Obituary for Ardys Christine Maryott

Ardys Christine Maryott
Bremerton, WA
November 20, 1926 to September 5, 2017

"My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” Psalm 27:8

At 4:10 am Tuesday, September 5, 2017, surrounded by family, mom arrived "home." She was born on November 20, 1926, in Sisseton, South Dakota. Ardys was preceded in death by her late husband, Dan Maryott, and a sister, Edna Andrews.

Ardys was a mom, wife, grandma, sister, aunt and foster parent. She is survived by her daughter Patti (Jerry) Danskin, son’s Bob (Judy) Duchemin, Tom (Gin) Duchemin, Tim (Jeanne) Duchemin, and Mike (Wendy) Duchemin. Four daughters from her marriage to Dan Maryott that she counted as her own; Evelyn (Bob) Burt, Patsy (Ron) Hogsett, Judy (Sam) Hall, and Barbara (Gill) Bynoe. Sister Elaine Valnes, twin brother, Arvin (Verla) Smith, brother Floyd (Rita) Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom has 73 grandchildren (including great grand children and great-great grandchildren). Mom always included her foster children as her “family.” Each family member held a special place in her heart.

She was a devoted follower of Jesus and looked forward to the day when she would be with her Lord. She lived her faith with passion and integrity, sharing her hope and life with others as opportunity allowed.

Ardys was a small business owner in Bremerton, Wa, and as a single parent always provided for the needs of her family. She did so with a love and commitment that will be her legacy.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 11 am at her home church, Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo, WA.
