Obituary for Carlos Gene Cook

Carlos Gene Cook passed away at his home Aug.2, 2017 after a long cancer battle.

He was born July 15, 1934 in Eden, ID then lived in Tacoma for 81 years. He is surived by his loving wife, Margaret of 57 years, two daughters: DeAnne (Levi) Erb, Melanie Galvan, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He graduated from Lincoln H.S. in 1953, served in the Air Force from 1954 to 58, attended CPS, and spent many years in the banking industry becoming a vice president. His hobbies as a young man included hot rodding and playing baseball. He also enjoyed airplanes, flying, fishing, boating, golfing as well as being a Mariner and Seahawk fan. He enjoyed vacationing in Mexico and traveling the U.S. He loved spending time with family and friends and was a proud grandpa aka gramps.

A celebration of his life will be held Aug. 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Chapel, 4606 – 108th St. S.W. Lakewood.

His family wishes to express their gratitude to K.P.” Oncology Dept. and Franciscan Hospice for their loving care and support.

Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Tacoma Humane Society or Franciscan Hospice.
