Jeff and Jone owned a boat most of their married life. Jeff learned to sail with his dad who was a boat builder and architectural engineer. Jeff captained his power boat, the Misty Autumn, for 35 years. He had a membership at the Tacoma Yacht Club where he served as Treasurer. He was also a Board member for the Washington State Food Dealers and served as treasurer of the Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce for many years while he assisted in making the Secret Salmon Sauce. He and Jone are Life members of the Steilacoom Historical Museum Society and he was an Old Timer at Tacoma Elks where he loved to played pool. He also spent time playing pool at the old Schooner Tavern where he had many friends and few enemies.
He traveled around the world, interesting the KGB in Russia, and learning about new foods in China. Vacations were enjoyed mainly in Maui where golf with friends was a high priority. His love of flying was enhanced by his service in the Washington Air National Guard.
